People think I paid an arm and a leg for it because of its appearance, which if you bought it at a watch store, you would probably be paying full price($495). When I went to get the watch resized the women who worked there had said," oooh this is a nice watch" Probably because she had never seen it before and the Invicta watches they do sell are $400+. I paid $99. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the crown does not screw in, so I wouldn't submerge this in even an inch of water. And the finish on the band scratches quite easily, I already have hairlike scratches on some parts of it, but it can always be replaced.

(More customer reviews)I bought this Invicta to replace a Seiko Kinetic that had been stolen, attracted by the vivid blue face, much like the watch I lost.For $90, I expected no more than a passable substitute.When the giant yellow box arrived, lined with genuine suede, I was surprised at how massive and well-made the watch was.The dial is an electric blue, the bezel clicks round in one direction with a satisfying Swiss mechanical precision, and the clasp mechanism is a unique design that snaps closed with a heavy, secure feel.It is enough to make the "you save $305" hype believable, although I've not had it long enough to judge the reliability or accuracy of the movement.My lone complaint is the instruction manual.The one-document-suits-all approach, printed in a small booklet that won't stay open, is irritating.I was able to figure out enough by fiddling to set the day and date, no help from the instructions.All in all, an excellent value.A home run for me.

Invicta Single Watch Winder with Interchangeable Face Plates Review

(More customer reviews)This winder does an acceptable job of winding watches, but not a great job. I have a Rapport four head winder, which consistently keeps all the watches wound that I place inside it. After a few days on the Invicta, watches generally start to lose significant time or stop altogether.
The best thing about this winder is its portablility. The rechargeable battery holds a charge for a few weeks before needing a recharge, so it is readily portable. It is also small and light. However, it does not hold a charge from 4-6 months as the manual states.
The build quality is average at best. A lot of plastic and low quality leather. The motor is very quiet, however, even more so than the far more expensive Rapport.
All in all, a decent product. But, if you have multiple, automatic watches, it's probably better to go with a higher quality model. While they are expensive, there is no doubt that they do a much better job of winding an expensive investment than this model does.

The second one was just as bad as the first, but this one ran 2 minutes FAST in 1 week! Both times, I set and checked the watch against a reliable, online atomic clock. To get 2 bad watches in succession says a lot about the quality assurance at Invicta: it's nonexistent! One might expect some inaccuracy from a cheap watch, but not 2 minutes in one week! And this is not a cheap watch. It's lists for $500.

Automatic Watches

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

Got this watch from Amazon a few weeks ago for under $100.00 delivered.Great looking and functional. It is a self wind watch, no battery to replace, it's water proof and the bezel is scratch proof.

Mine gains 1/2 minute a week but I don't mind that.I just reset it and take the opportunity rewind the watch a little before putting it back on.

It's a nice looking well finished watch.Did I say that it looks a lot like the Rolex Submariner?Not quite but close.5 stars for finish and delivery.

With the exception of my Invicta Pro-Diver Automatic, this has to be the best made and appealing watch I have seen from Invicta. The dial is large and meaty as shown in my photos. The numbers, hands and 12 dot all glow in the dark. This watch was priced at an attractive $49.99 with free 1 day shipping. I ordered it at 5:00pm on 11-10-08 and received it at 2:00pm on the 11th. Not sure if this is an early black friday deal from Amazon or a price typo; however, this watch is well worth the $49.99. I received an email from Invicta. This is actually a 2009 model that is suppose to be released in March; however, Amazon has it now. This is a very attractive price for this watch. Based on Invicta's MSRP, the watch should actually be around $129.00, so the $49.99 is a steal. Nice time piece for yourself and for a gift!!! This was the email I received from Invicta:

This model is one of the next year models that are selling now.
But we will not have it in our website probably until March next year.
