Got the Invicta 7047 from Great Timing Inc. via Amazon. Watch arrived on time, brand new, no problems.

It looks like a much more expensive watch than the USD 136 I paid for it.

It comes in a very cute yellow box thats well made, well padded, with a manual, warranty card. Just the box looks expensive and gives a great starting impression even before you see the watch.

The watch has a whole lot of disposable protective plastic film all around, to prevent scratches. Very caring of INVICTA.

The Watch itself looks very well made. The web site said that the watch body and bracelet were 23K gold plated and they look the part.

I wish the bezel was same shade of Gold as the watch body and bracelet, as I dont particularly like low carat gold. In the picture on AMAZON, the bezel looked more yellow ( same like the middle part of the bracelet) but the actual watch has a bezel that is more copper than the bracelet.

The Bracelet is very big and I need to remove 4 links, there are no tools in the box so I need to find a watch shop.

The bezel, dial and hands look good, but are surely not in the same class as an Omega / Rolex. Infact the most horrible part of the watch is the INVICTA logo, it has some low contrast engraving thats hard to see. It looks more like a fly trapped inside the dial. Most other manufacturers make their logo in the best quality for best visibility, so this is a disappointment. (The picture on AMAZON shows a gold trim on the logo bordering black wings, but the actual watch has all that stuff of the same color, making it hard to decipher)

The Bezel is EXTREMELY hard to turn, confirming that this is a fashion dress watch that looks like a diver's watch. In any case, I would not advice diving with a shiny gold colored watch that just might attract some shark's attention.

The watch will surely attract some attention if you wear it past 10 PM and walk through central park alone !!Somehow the extra 2000$ asked for by an Omega/Rolex do give you much finer and refined workmanship. In case INVICTA had to improve this watch, then changing the logo, the dial and hands could be areas to work on as the body and bracelet are perfect.

It says 200M water resistant ( thats 660ft). That's nice, so I can take this watch scuba diving !! or at least not be afraid if I am caught in the rain.

It has Day Date, and that is normally very rare in sub 5000$ top brand automatics, while so easy to find in 200$ B and C class brands.

The mechanism to set time/Day/Date appear a bit flaky and not very smooth or assuring. I dont know why I get the feeling I will break something inside.

Overall, I am suitably pleased with this watch initially, Will see over the months how it takes knocks, scratches etc. I got it as a fun watch to use ocassionally as none of my other watches is all gold. It looks like a much more expensive watch from far, but the bad logo, slightly less refined dial and hands will make people realise immediately that it's no A Grader.

My other watches ( so that you know what I am comparing this with and where I am coming from) :
Original Omega Constellation Day Date Quartz, steel and a bit of gold : Love it, but it's too thin, still going strong after 16 years

Original Omega James Bond Automatic, date, steel with a blue dial: Great, strong, macho. I am sure it will last for ever. Very well made and you feel proud to wear this product !! This is the normal watch I wear to work, board meetings, parties. Money shows.

Seiko Orange Monster, Steel and lots of Orange : Cheap, very strong, one of the only watches that I actually Scuba Dive with. If this was available in 23K Gold, I would never have thought of buying this INVICTA. Here's another watch that I am sure will last an eternity. Love this one !! If they made a 1000$ or 2000$ version of this watch with some value for that extra money, I would buy it right away. This is one of my weekend watches.

Just Bling "Phantom Black" 47mm square with real diamonds : It must have been a midlife crisis that prompted me to buy this one !!!, but then no other watch in my collection is square or has a leather strap.

Casio G Shock Titanium, Hawaii Special, Black Dial and Red plastic Strap : Fun, beach watch, Sporty, Plasticky, Big, Can Scuba dive with it.

Product Description:
Designed for serious divers, the Invicta Men's Signature Collection Pro Diver Gold-Tone Automatic Watch features luminous hour markers and a unidirectional bezel to help you keep track of your underwater explorations. Featuring 23-karat-gold plating, the steel watch includes a link wristband that's secured with a fold-over safety clasp. A scratch-resistant sapphire window shields the golden dial, which features bold, luminous hour markers, slim minute indexes, and Arabic numerals in five-minute increments. The dial also includes a day-and-date calendar at the three o'clock position. Featuring Japanese-automatic movement, this sporty timepiece is water resistant to 660 feet (200 m).
Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.
Automatic Watches

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).
